You know when you have a plan to do a thing! You start the thing, and then life gets a little crazy? That seems to be the story of blogs, and certainly the story of this one. I have not stopped sewing, knitting, crocheting, crafting, or gaming. However the month of March did include my first conference with my new employer, strategic planning (code for “let’s plan out our next 3 years in one weekend”), and a board meeting.
I’m still here, and I’m drafting posts! More soon!
Welcome to my little corner of the internet! I had grand plans to launch this blog at the start of the year, but 2 rounds of strep throat got the better of me. Now, I am feeling better and so glad to be getting to updates!
I suspect you are either here because you already know me in person (Hi Friend!), you met me on social media somewhere (isn’t it great to live in the future?), or something in this blog came up in an internet search. In any case, welcome!
I will be sharing mostly things about boardgames and my creative projects (to include sewing, knitting, crocheting, and others), as well as general things about my life. We play several boardgames per week. My current favorites are Sentinels of the Multiverse, Above and Below, and Pandemic Legacy. I am also working on a mini “Wardrobe Architect” project, because I just love being able to wear clothes that I made myself. I also love to bake and have been experimenting with many gluten-free, dairy-free recipes, so you may see a recipe or two. I am also on a journey to get healthier, so the occasional exercise post may sneak through.
Still, my primary message here is creativity and boardgames. Hence the title, On Pins and Meeples! What’s a Meeple? It’s one of the newest words in the Oxford dictionary, that’s what! The popular Oxford website defines meeple as “a small figure used as a playing piece in certain board games, having a stylized human form.”
Here’s a photo of me working at a convention boardgame table in the meeple dress I made. It should help you embrace this awesome word into your life.
In any case, welcome, and I hope you will hang out and stay awhile.
